Guardiola has signed a 12-month contract extension
Pep Guardiola has officially signed a 12-month contract extension with Barcelona, as is confirmed by the official website of Barcelona.
The 40-year-old coach has reached a verbal agreement earlier this month, but the deal eventually happen offisial on Wednesday night local time in an event involving Tito Vilanona and President Sandro Rosell.
The new contract will make the coach with Barcelona until June 10, 2012, and ending all speculation that proclaim that he would leave the English club. In the meantime, if Guardiola finish his contract, he will become the fourth coach in club history that the Barca coach for 4 seasons or more.
Guardiola first became coach in 2008 and in his first season he has led Barca to win the treble that is La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League, and became the first Spanish club who managed to do so.
Guardiola to be the last club member who menanadatangani new contract, with Sergio Busquets and Bojan Kirkic which have been first to sign long-term contract at the start of the season, while Eric Abidal also dharapkan will follow in their footsteps in the next few weeks.
